Dr. McNamee in her office

Psychiatrist and therapist working with adults in Denver with over 15 years of experience.

What to expect

I believe authentic relationship and a depth of understanding are essential keys to best mental health treatment and support. As such, whether I am evaluating for therapy or medication services, I conduct comprehensive intake interviews so as to work to appreciate the complex roles and interplay of personal psychological development, attachment relationships, trauma, genetics, physical wellness and medical illness, brain injury, neurodevelopment, medications, treatment history, substance use, social roles, values, culture, and spiritual focus in a person’s life. This basis of understanding both guides treatment recommendations and helps to build a foundation for the treatment relationship.

What you are navigating

I have extensive experience and expertise working with adults (18 and older) who confront challenges in the context of:

  • spectrum of mental health diagnoses

  • depression, anxiety, bipolar, psychoses

  • distress in relationship

  • trauma

  • transgenerational trauma

  • existential fears

  • medical illnesses

  • challenges specific to pressures and variability of culture and/or acculturation

  • undereducation

  • severe and persistent symptoms interfering with basic activities day-to-day

  • as well as less severe difficulties

  • I have specific experience in evaluating and treating people new to mental health and/or medication treatment, as well as those with more resistant symptoms.

At this time, I do not offer specific ADD/HD evaluations, nor are my services structured for primary treatment of severe substance use challenges.
